Albert Sacco
BIOGRAPHY
Albert Sacco Jr. (born January 9, 1949 in Boston, Massachusetts) is an American chemical engineer and former NASA payload specialist. He earned a B.S. in chemical engineering from Northeastern University and an M.S. in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Selected as a payload specialist for the United States Microgravity Laboratoryโ2 mission, Sacco flew aboard Space Shuttle Columbia on STSโ73 (October 20 โ November 5, 1995), logging 15 days, 21 hours, and 52 minutes in space. After his NASA career, he served as a professor of chemical engineering at MIT and later became a senior executive in the aerospace industry. He has been awarded the NASA Space Flight Medal.
